The answer is Ray Manzarek. Ray Manzarek was the keyboardist/bassist/occasional lead singer for The Doors. He was two band members at once. His right hand was the keyboardist for the band, while his left hand was the bass player. He was able to play bass lines with his left hand in different time than the keyboard melodies and solos with his right hand. Alot of the times during live shows when Morrison was too messed up to sing Ray would take over on lead vocals along with keyboard and bass with the band. The guy was a musical genius and talent.

Next time you listen to a Doors song, listen closely to the keyboard and bass parts and try to imagine them played at the same time by one person with two different hands.
Bottom Line - "If the doors of perception were cleansed, every thing would appear to man as it is: infinite." -William Blake
